Philippians 3 – The Unconquerable Man: Rejoice in the Lord

Is it possible to know joy and happiness in the midst of suffering? God’s command given through Paul to rejoice always seems impossible at best and cruel at worst. Furthermore, it has often been quoted in the most unhelpful of ways as people expect joyful people to be smiling people and thus struggle squaring being joyful with going through times of intense grief and pain.

Paul helpfully calls the church to root their joy not in the circumstance but in their fellowship with God and contrary to common conceptions Paul recognizes that a joyful person doesn’t always have a smile on their face.

Ministry Goals

It is my desire to serve in a local church
body where I can help train up men and
women into mature Christian leaders. I
have a heart and passion for discipleship and seeing believers grow in their
knowledge of Scripture and faithful
application of Biblical principles in day
to day living.

I desire to reach the hurting and those
struggling through the difficulties of
living in a fallen world. I love to see
individual church members grow in
being able to care for one another and
minister the word according to the
needs of the moment.

Nothing excites me more than seeing it
“click” when someone understands how
the Bible fits together and speaks into
their life.
