1 Peter 1:13-21 – The Legacy we Live is the Legacy we Leave
You live your legacy. What people observe about your words and actions as they interact with you will be the legacy you leave behind when you take your final breath. We are all leaving a legacy, Peter challenges us to live the legacy we want to leave by living the legacy we have been given. Continue reading

1 Peter 1:1-12 – The Joy that Sustains
Where is God in suffering? That is a question that believers and unbelievers alike often ask as they face the challenges of life. Peter addresses this question head on and helps us develop an understanding of God’s purpose in allowing suffering into our lives. For the believer, suffering is not something we encounter by mere Continue reading

1 Peter 1:1-12 – The anchor that holds
Much of life is spent in the middle of the storms. Those who are untethered from an anchor that holds will be tossed about. But those that know the promises of God will be held fast. Peter challenges us to hold fast to the promise, enjoy the blessings, and not get the two mixed up. Continue reading

Philippians 4 – The Unconquerable Man: Cultivating the Mindset
An unconquerable spirit is not something that “just happens”, it is something that is cultivated through a mindset that prepares both body and soul for the day of adversity. We prepare now so that when we are faced with trials of every kind, we can remind ourselves that the outcome is secure and rejoice in Continue reading

Philippians 3 – The Unconquerable Man: Rejoice in the Lord
Is it possible to know joy and happiness in the midst of suffering? God’s command given through Paul to rejoice always seems impossible at best and cruel at worst. Furthermore, it has often been quoted in the most unhelpful of ways as people expect joyful people to be smiling people and thus struggle squaring being Continue reading

Philippians 2 – The Unconquerable Man: Cultivating Oneness the Catalyst for an Unconquerable Spirit
The New Testament writers spill a lot of ink calling, exhorting, encouraging, and commanding the people of God to pursue oneness in God. What the people of God have in Christ crosses all cultural, ethnic, contextual, national, and economic barriers. The people of God are one and as we cultivate that unity in Christ we Continue reading

Philippians 1 – The Unconquerable Man: The Foundation for Joy
When you look at the circumstances of Paul’s life one might expect to find a bitter, depressed, and frustrated man. Yet what you find is a man who is determined, hopeful, and filled with joy. One might say Paul had an unconquerable spirit. The Spirit that enlivened Paul’s spirit is the same Spirit given to Continue reading

Psalm 145 – A Vision for Discipleship
“One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.” At its core, discipleship is praising the name of the Lord to the next generation in all of life’s many challenges and varying contexts. Psalm 145 reminds us that no matter the circumstances we find ourselves in our God is unchanging Continue reading

1 John 5:13-21 – That You May Know the Blessing of Confident Fellowship with God
Those who are Christ’s should be able to face all of life’s uncertainties with the joyful confidence that one thing never changes. That you are Christ’s, and He is yours. When we are confident in our relationship with Christ, we have a sure and future hope and can confidently enjoy all of the blessings that Continue reading

1 John 4:7-5:5 – That You May Know Love
Love is something that everyone desires yet many find it hard to define. As followers of Christ our definition and concept of love must come from scripture. It is a constant struggle to let scripture define what love is rather than accepting the definitions the world comes up with. Fortunately, we have an example of Continue reading
Ministry Goals
It is my desire to serve in a local church
body where I can help train up men and
women into mature Christian leaders. I
have a heart and passion for discipleship and seeing believers grow in their
knowledge of Scripture and faithful
application of Biblical principles in day
to day living.
I desire to reach the hurting and those
struggling through the difficulties of
living in a fallen world. I love to see
individual church members grow in
being able to care for one another and
minister the word according to the
needs of the moment.
Nothing excites me more than seeing it
“click” when someone understands how
the Bible fits together and speaks into
their life.
